Eco-Ride Assistant (Slope Advisor) - last updated October 7, 2026
Eco-Ride Assistant (also called Slope Advisor) is an eco-driving advisor for trucks. It watches the road ahead and tells the driver when to lift off the throttle or engage the engine brake. This policy explains what the app does with your data. It applies to the Android app "Eco-Ride Assistant" published by the developer named on its store page; the contact address is at the end.
The app uses your device's GPS location, only while the app is running a trip, to work out where the truck is on the road and what terrain lies ahead. This is the core function of the app and cannot be turned off without turning off the app's advice. The app asks for location access only while it is in use; it does not ask for "background" location access.
Location data is used ONLY on your device, to:
While a trip runs, the app writes a CSV log file of that drive (position, speed, the advice given and technical values used to compute it) to your device's own storage, in this app's own app-specific folder. That file stays on your device unless YOU send it, as described under "Reports and reviews you send". You can read it yourself (for example with a file manager, or by connecting the device to a computer) and delete it at any time, or by uninstalling the app.
The app can send the developer feedback, only when you ask it to:
Each item is sent together with a random installation number made by the app on first use, the app version, and the time. The number is not linked to your name, your e-mail address, your account or any identifier of your device; it only lets the developer tell reports from different installations apart and send a message to one installation. When the developer's server receives an item it also notes the country the connection came from (as reported by the hosting service). The developer's server does not store your IP address.
Everything is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the developer's own server, which runs on Cloudflare. The data is used solely to analyze the app's performance, to improve it, and to answer you. It is not sold, not used for advertising and not given to anyone else.
The app uses the internet for exactly three things, all with the developer's own servers (maps.respecttrans2024.com and api.respecttrans2024.com):
The app contacts no other address.
The app also asks for: a foreground-service and notification permission, so the trip recording and advice keep running with a visible notification while the screen is off or another app is in front; a "display over other apps" permission, used only to show a small floating speed and advice icon when you switch away from the working screen; and permission to see whether the connection is Wi-Fi or mobile data, so that it can ask before downloading a map over mobile data. None of these sends any data anywhere, and the app works without the first two, just without the notification or the floating icon.
Settings, recorded trips and your confirmation of the notices shown when you first open the app live in this app's own storage on your device (your confirmation never leaves the phone; a recorded trip leaves it only if you send it as a trip report); uninstalling the app removes all of it. Reviews, trip reports and trip files you have sent are kept on the developer's server for up to one year and then deleted automatically. To have the data you sent deleted earlier, write to the contact address below and give the installation number shown at the bottom of the "Setting + Info" screen. The developer will delete it and confirm.
This app is a professional tool for commercial truck drivers and is not directed at children.
If what the app collects or does ever changes, this page and the copy inside the app will be updated to describe the new behaviour. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
